Q: What is Artistic Swimming? A: Artistic swimming, formerly known as synchronized swimming, combines elements of swimming, gymnastics, and dance. This sport features swimmers executing synchronized routines that include intricate and dynamic underwater figures and graceful arm movements, all performed in time with music. In Duet ,Solo, and Team events, participants also incorporate a range of creative and acrobatic moves, showcasing both strength and skill.

Q:What are the benefits to the participants in doing artistic swimming? A: development of teamwork and problem-solving skills, increased self-esteem, physical health and time management. However, the benefits of our sport go far beyond the typical activity. Artistic swimmers have an outlet for self-expression while challenging their physical fitness, develop a sense of creativity while building leadership skills and learn how to accept constructive feedback in a way that allows for growth.

Q: Is prior swimming experience necessary to start artistic swimming? A: Yes, you'll need to be able to swim at least 25 yards in freestyle to start artistic swimming.

Q: Can boys participate in artistic swimming? A: Yes! In 2015, mixed-gender duets were introduced at the World Aquatics Championships.
